This 4Days Uganda Chimpanzee and Wildlife Safari begins and ends in the country’s bustling metropolis of Kampala. Other primates such as chimpanzees, colobus and monkeys can be seen in Kibale National Park. Kibale National Park is also a popular destination for other outdoor activities such as bird watching, nature walks and chimpanzee tracking. To obtain a chimpanzee permit, you must pay US$150 per visitor. They will also visit Queen Elizabeth National Park in western Uganda, about 376 kilometers from Kampala.
The park is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna, including numerous bird species (over 500 species) and numerous mammals (approximately 95 species), including tree-climbing lions, elephants and buffalo from the Ishasha area, crocodile, hippopotamus, antelope. This tour includes a boat ride along the Kazinga Strait, a wildlife drive in the park, bird watching, and a trip to Crater Lake.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
After breakfast, our guide/driver will come to take you up from your accommodation in Kampala. After receiving a briefing from him, you will head west into Kibale National Park in a vehicle. Have lunch at a rest point with breathtaking views of the Rwenzori mountains and the surrounding farmland. Upon arriving in Kibale, you can check into your lodge and then spend the afternoon exploring the Bigodi Wetlands, where you can observe a wide variety of birds, including those that are only seen in the Albertine Rift. You have your dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking and Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
In order to begin your trail for chimpanzees in the forest by 8:00 a.m., it is recommended that you eat breakfast right away and be at the park headquarters in time for the briefing on chimpanzee tracking. Later you will hit the forest in search for the chimpanzees, you’ll have a fantastic experience meeting these chimps, and you can take pictures of them because their DNA is so similar to ours (99%). The LHoests monkey, Grey cheeked mangabey, white and black colobus, and red-tailed monkey are just some of the other primates you might come across. You might also encounter birds like the green breasted pitta and the rumped tinker bird, as well as a wide range of plant life. You should return to the lodge after lunch, pack your bags, and then set out for Queen Elizabeth National Park, arriving late in the day. Lodge in for the night and get some rest.
Day 3: Morning Game Drive in the Park and Afternoon Boat Cruise on Kazinga Channel.
After an early breakfast, you’ll go out on a three-hour game drive through the wilderness in search of wildlife to mention elephants, antelopes, leopards, lions, waterbucks, and other species of animals. After seeing the animals in the morning, you will drive back to the resort for lunch before taking a two-hour boat ride through the Kazinga canal in the afternoon, where you may spot crocodiles, more herds of buffalo, elephants, hippos, and many bird species. You will return to the lodge in the evening, eat dinner, and spend the night there.
Day 4: Depart to Kampala.
After an early breakfast, you will head to see craters and Katwe Salt Lake. Exit the park and embark on a drive back to Kampala. Upon arrival you will dropped at any place of your choice or be transferred to the airport for your flight back home.
