Day 1: Drive Queen Elizabeth National Park
After an early breakfast, begin your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park in western Uganda. Stop at the equator for a quick photo op. Drive in the town of Mbarara, have lunch and from there continue to the park. The park is one of Uganda’s outstanding treasures and was named after Queen Elizabeth II during her visit to Uganda in 1954.
Queen Elizabeth Park covers an area of 1,978 square kilometers of her and lies between her two large lakes, Lake George and Lake Edward, and her 34-kilometer Kazinga Strait. Upon entering the park, you can see the suppression of the Rwenzori Mountain Creator Lake, the Rift Valley, and some of the animals that inhabit the plains of the park. The park boasts animals such as lions, elephants, buffalo, corn on the cob, bushbucks, waterbucks, warthogs and leopards, but finding them may not be easy. Meals and accommodation at Mega Safari Lodge, Engagi Lodge or Ihamba Safari Lodge, tented rooms at Bush Lodge or full board Banda (Mid-Range).
Day 2: Early Morning Game Drive – Evening Boat Cruise
Tourists enjoy boating on the Kazinga Channel. They set off at dawn to meet the early risers over an early morning African tea. Meet animals such as waterbucks, buffaloes, warthogs and a variety of birds. Within the park he has recorded more than 95 species of mammals and his more than 600 species of birds.
After the game drive, return to the lodge for breakfast and relax after lunch. Afterwards, depart for an afternoon and evening cruise along the Kazinga Strait. Cruising the Kazinga Strait, you will most likely see water buffaloes, hippos, dozens of kingfishers and pelicans, among others. Return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Morning Chimps Tracking – Return To Kampala
Wake up in time to set out on a chimpanzee tracking safari at the Kalinzu Forest Reserve in the Kyambura Valley. After chasing the chimpanzees, have breakfast and check out to start the journey to Kampala/Entebbe. Have lunch in the town of Mbarara before heading to Kampala, arriving in the early evening.
